The Queen 1789 Foundation was established to ensure the legacy of The Queen Theater continues. Through charitable support, the Foundation helps preserve this iconic venue, expand access to arts and cultural programming, invest in its future, and ensure The Queen remains a place where music and community can reign for generations to come.

We exist to strengthen Wilmington through the arts, creating opportunities for local artists, expanding access to music and culture, and bringing people together through shared experiences. We champion the artists, audiences, and community that make Wilmington thrive, while helping fuel the continued resurgence of Market Street.

Preserve the character, history, and cultural significance of The Queen while thoughtfully evolving the space to meet the needs of future artists, audiences, and the community.

Build the financial strength and long-term resources needed to responsibly steward, preserve, and sustain The Queen as a historic and cultural landmark.

Create meaningful opportunities for Wilmington-area artists to perform, create, and collaborate.

Make music, culture, and creative experiences more accessible to a broader range of people through programming, partnerships, and community initiatives.
